Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 2026
At Ana Bell Studio, privacy should be straightforward.
We collect only the information reasonably necessary to operate our website, sell and deliver artwork and digital products, communicate with collectors and customers, maintain customer accounts, understand how our website is used, and keep the site secure.
This Privacy & Cookie Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, who may receive it, and the choices available to you.
If you have any questions about your personal information, you can contact us at:
1. Who We Are
This website is operated by Ana Bell Studio Beograd, a sole proprietor established in Serbia.
For the purposes of applicable data-protection law, Ana Bell Studio is responsible for the personal information collected through this website, except where another service provider acts independently in relation to information supplied directly to it.
Our website is hosted on servers located in Germany.
2. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use the website.
When you place an order, we may collect information such as:
- your name;
- email address;
- telephone number;
- billing address;
- shipping address;
- country;
- order details;
- products purchased;
- payment method;
- account information, if you create an account;
- IP address and basic technical information relating to your visit; and
- company or tax information where relevant to a transaction.
WooCommerce stores ordinary order information such as customer contact details, billing and shipping information and details of what was purchased in the website database. WooCommerce
We may also receive information that you voluntarily send us by email, particularly in relation to commissions, custom artwork, shipping questions or customer support.
3. Customer Accounts
Creating an account is optional.
If you choose to create an account, we may retain information necessary to provide it, including your name, email address, order history, saved addresses and account credentials.
Passwords are not visible to us in plain text.
You may contact us if you wish to have an account closed or personal information associated with it reviewed or deleted, subject to information that we are legally required to retain.
4. How We Use Your Information
We may use personal information to:
- process and fulfil orders;
- arrange shipping and delivery;
- provide digital purchases and downloads;
- process payments;
- administer customer accounts;
- communicate about orders;
- respond to questions and requests;
- arrange commissions or custom work;
- prevent fraud and misuse of the website;
- maintain security;
- comply with accounting, tax and other legal obligations;
- understand how visitors use the website;
- improve the website, store and customer experience; and
- send marketing communications where you have chosen to receive them.
Depending on the circumstances, processing may be necessary to perform a contract with you, comply with a legal obligation, pursue a legitimate business interest, or take place on the basis of your consent.
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
5. Payments
We may offer payment through services including WooPayments, PayPal, bank transfer and cryptocurrency payment methods. Available payment methods may be added, removed or changed over time.
When you use a third-party payment service, information necessary to complete the transaction may be shared directly with that payment provider.
This can include information such as your name, email address, billing details, transaction amount and payment identifiers. WooCommerce expressly notes that payment gateways may receive customer billing information and transaction information needed to process payment. WooCommerce
We do not store your full credit-card number or card security code on our own website.
WooPayments uses hosted payment fields and processes sensitive payment information through its payment environment; full card information is not stored on the merchant’s website. WooCommerce
Where you choose PayPal, cryptocurrency or another payment method, the relevant provider may process your information according to its own privacy terms.
Cryptocurrency transactions may also involve information recorded on a public blockchain, depending on the payment method used. Information recorded on a public blockchain may not be capable of being altered or deleted by us.
6. Shipping
Where you purchase a physical item, information necessary to deliver your order may be shared with postal operators, couriers, freight services, customs intermediaries or other parties involved in delivery.
This will normally include information such as:
- your name;
- delivery address;
- telephone number;
- email address where necessary;
- parcel information; and
- customs or shipment information.
We disclose only the information reasonably necessary to arrange and manage delivery.
7. Digital Products
We may sell educational ebooks, downloads and other digital products.
Our ecommerce system may record information relating to your purchase and access to the product as part of the normal operation of WooCommerce and the website.
We do not independently create additional tracking records of your reading or use of downloaded material beyond what our ecommerce, hosting, security and technical systems ordinarily record.
8. Commissions and Custom Work
Commissioned artwork is arranged directly by email.
If you contact us regarding a commission, you may voluntarily provide reference photographs, descriptions, preferences or other materials relevant to the work.
We use these materials only for communicating with you and creating or administering the requested commission unless another use has been separately agreed.
Please avoid sending sensitive personal information that is not necessary for the commission.
9. Email and Marketing
Yes. Now that Kit is definite rather than hypothetical, I would update the Privacy & Cookie Policy rather than create another policy.
You do not need to add Kit to Shipping & Returns. You also do not really need to name Kit in the Terms & Conditions; the Terms can simply say that newsletter subscriptions are voluntary and governed by the Privacy & Cookie Policy.
The main changes should be in four parts of your existing Privacy & Cookie Policy.
First, replace your current “Email and Marketing” section with this:
9. Email and Marketing
We use Kit (formerly ConvertKit) to manage our email newsletter, mailing lists and related email communications.
If you choose to subscribe, we may provide Kit with information such as:
- your email address;
- your name, where you choose to provide it;
- the date and source of your subscription;
- your consent and subscription status;
- tags or preferences associated with your subscription; and
- technical or engagement information generated through your interaction with our emails and signup forms.
Newsletter subscriptions are voluntary.
We use a double opt-in process where appropriate. After submitting a subscription form, you may therefore be asked to confirm your email address before being added to our active mailing list.
We use newsletter information to send content such as studio news, new artwork, educational material, articles, product announcements and occasional offers.
Where consent is the applicable legal basis for marketing communications, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
Every marketing email sent through Kit includes an unsubscribe mechanism. You can also ask us to remove you from our mailing list by contacting:
Unsubscribing from marketing communications does not prevent us from sending messages that are necessary to fulfil an order, respond to an enquiry or administer another existing relationship with you.
Kit processes subscriber information on our behalf as an email marketing service provider. Kit states that subscriber data is processed subject to its Data Processing Addendum and is not sold or shared by Kit for purposes unrelated to providing its services.
10. Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used, such as which pages are visited, how visitors arrive at the site and how people interact with it.
Google Analytics may process technical information relating to your browser, device and use of the website.
Google requires sites using Analytics to disclose its use and the associated collection and processing of data. Google Help
Where consent is legally required, analytics cookies and similar technologies will not be activated until you have made the appropriate selection through our cookie banner.
We also use Google Search Console to understand how the website appears and performs in Google Search.
11. Embedded Content
Some pages may contain embedded content from our own social-media channels, including:
- YouTube;
- Instagram; and
- similar services we may reasonably introduce in the future.
Embedded content can behave as though you had visited the third-party website directly.
Those services may receive technical information, set cookies, or process information about your interaction with the embedded content.
Where required, non-essential embedded services will be blocked until you give the appropriate consent through our cookie controls.
The privacy practices of those platforms are governed by their respective privacy policies.
12. Cookies
Cookies are small files or similar technologies that websites use to remember information, provide functionality, measure usage or support third-party services.
Our website may use several categories of cookies.
Necessary Cookies
These cookies are required for functions such as:
- the shopping cart;
- checkout;
- customer accounts;
- login and authentication;
- website security;
- fraud prevention;
- remembering essential site preferences; and
- maintaining a WooCommerce shopping session.
These cookies cannot always be disabled because parts of the website may not function correctly without them.
Analytics Cookies
With the appropriate consent, we may use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the website.
At present this principally includes Google Analytics.
Marketing Cookies
We do not currently operate significant advertising or retargeting systems, but we may introduce them in the future.
If we do, appropriate information and consent controls will be provided before marketing cookies or similar technologies are used where required by law.
Social Media and Embedded Content Cookies
Third-party embedded content, including YouTube or Instagram content, may use cookies or similar technologies.
Where legally required, these services will remain blocked until you consent to the relevant category.
13. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
When you first visit the website, you may be shown a cookie banner allowing you to choose which optional technologies you wish to allow.
You can refuse optional cookies without losing access to the ordinary content of the website, although certain embedded or optional features may not function until consent is given.
You can also change or withdraw your consent later using the Manage Consent or cookie-preferences option available on the website.
You may additionally delete or restrict cookies using your browser settings.
14. Service Providers
Running a small online studio still requires a number of specialist services.
Depending on how you interact with the website, information may be processed by providers involved in areas such as:
- website hosting;
- WooCommerce ecommerce functionality;
- payment processing;
- email delivery;
- spam prevention;
- security;
- analytics;
- shipping and logistics;
- digital-product delivery; and
- technical maintenance.
Our principal website hosting provider is FastComet, with this website hosted in Germany.
Some service providers operate independently and maintain their own privacy policies.
We seek to use established providers and disclose only the information reasonably necessary for the service being provided.
15. International Transfers
Ana Bell Studio is established in Serbia, our website is hosted in Germany, and some of the services used by the website may be operated by companies located in other countries, including outside Serbia and the European Economic Area.
As a result, personal information may sometimes be processed internationally.
Where applicable, we and our service providers rely on appropriate legal mechanisms and safeguards for international transfers.
The precise countries and service providers involved may change as our technical infrastructure develops.
16. How Long We Keep Information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and to meet applicable legal, tax, accounting and regulatory requirements in Serbia.
For example, order and transaction records may need to be retained after a purchase has been completed because they form part of our business and accounting records.
Information that is no longer required and does not need to be retained for legal purposes may be deleted or anonymised.
Newsletter information is retained until you unsubscribe or otherwise withdraw your consent, subject to limited records that may be necessary to demonstrate that a consent or unsubscribe request was respected.
17. Your Rights
Depending on where you live and the laws applicable to your information, you may have rights including the ability to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you;
- receive a copy of that information;
- correct inaccurate information;
- request deletion of information;
- restrict certain processing;
- object to certain uses of your information;
- withdraw consent;
- object to direct marketing; and
- request data portability where applicable.
These types of rights are provided under both modern European data-protection frameworks and Serbia’s personal-data protection regime. European Data Protection Board
If you would like to exercise a privacy right, simply contact:
We may need to confirm your identity before fulfilling a request so that we do not disclose or delete somebody else's information.
Some information cannot immediately be deleted where we are required to retain it by law, for accounting purposes, to establish or defend legal claims, or for another lawful reason.
18. EU, EEA and UK Visitors
If applicable data-protection legislation such as the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to your use of the website, the rights and protections provided by that legislation will apply in addition to this policy.
Nothing in this policy is intended to remove rights that cannot legally be waived.
19. Children
Ana Bell Studio is a general-audience art website and online store. It is not designed as a service for children and we do not knowingly solicit personal information from children.
Some publicly available material, such as articles about art, painting or education, may naturally be suitable for and read by younger visitors.
Simply reading publicly available material does not require a child to create an account or provide personal information.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us inappropriately, please contact us.
20. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure.
Our website uses established ecommerce, hosting, payment, email and security technologies, but no online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Customers are also responsible for protecting passwords associated with their accounts.
21. Links to Other Websites
Our website may link to websites that we do not operate.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of independent third-party websites, and we recommend reviewing their privacy information if you choose to visit them.
22. Changes to This Policy
Ana Bell Studio may update this Privacy & Cookie Policy as the website, our services, applicable laws or the technologies we use change.
The current version will always be published on this page together with its latest update date.
Material changes may also be communicated through the website where appropriate.
23. Contact
Questions about privacy do not need to be complicated.
If you would like to know what information we have about you, correct something, ask us to delete information where possible, withdraw a marketing consent or simply ask a question, please contact:
